Choose the workflow before preparing rows

Create a new variation parent in Card Lister

1. Open List Singles and complete Batch Setup. Choose the intended Configuration Profile and select eBay Variation from the supported Listing Type control.
2. Add every child card. Confirm each card’s exact identity, condition, seller SKU, quantity, price, and photo.
3. Review the parent settings. Set the shared variation listing title, parent SKU, cover/gallery image, policies, category, and shared item specifics.
4. Review the child labels. Card Throne uses the displayed List row title as the variation value when available and keeps it within eBay’s child-value limit.
5. Run Check Readiness. Resolve missing titles, prices, quantities, and images. For an unmatched raw card, review its identity carefully and explicitly confirm that you want to continue without a verified catalog ID.

The parent is marketplace presentation. Its child rows hold the buyer choices and listing quantities. Physical Inventory Manager locations remain exact child stock; the parent SKU never becomes a Pull Location.

Choose eBay CSV or live Push to Inventory

eBay CSV

Export CSV > eBay CSV writes one parent row followed by child variation rows. The parent carries the shared title, parent SKU, cover image, and relationship details. Child rows carry the child label, price, quantity, and variation photo. The download does not create a live listing or Inventory Manager stock.

The live path creates one parent fixed-price item with child variations, waits for the real eBay item ID, saves the seller-owned result, and verifies the Inventory Manager handoff. The optional fixed-listing duplicate suggestion control is not shown for variation batches.

Edit an existing parent in Variation Studio

1. Open Inventory Manager > Variations.
2. Select the exact seller-owned eBay variation parent.
3. Choose Check eBay for Updates before editing. One live check compares parent title, cover, child order, SKUs, quantities, prices, photos, and variation specifics without changing local physical locations. For a single-axis parent, Current eBay order is the buyer-facing selector sequence, not the row order in Seller Hub's Manage variations table.
4. If the mirror differs, review the comparison and choose Import eBay Updates. This refreshes the local mirror and rebases compatible browser-saved draft edits. It does not change eBay.
5. Edit the parent or children, add a new variation row, or optionally add inventory from a Card Lister batch or compatible Card Lister CSV.
6. Provide every required child field and photo. Preserve blank eBay seller SKUs as blank unless you intentionally assign a real seller SKU.

Importing eBay updates can materialize missing positive child quantities into exact local item-plus-variation rows when safe. Existing higher local stock, reservations, and picked history remain protected.

Use Review Changes before Publish changes

1. Choose Review Changes. Card Throne compares the saved draft with the current parent and shows parent edits, existing-child edits, restocks, new children, merged input rows, and blockers.
2. Resolve every blocker. Missing identity, conflicting SKU ownership, stale live data, quantity ambiguity, or incomplete photos must stop the publish.
3. Read the exact reviewed rows. Confirm before/after quantity, price, SKU, image action, and location behavior for each child.
4. Choose Publish changes. Card Throne refreshes the live parent, sends one consolidated seller-owned revision, verifies eBay’s result, and only then updates Inventory Manager.

If a publish was accepted by eBay but local finalization was interrupted, use the saved recovery action. Card Throne verifies the existing result instead of sending a fresh revision blindly.

Protect child identity, quantity, and order

• Scope by seller + marketplace + parent item. Never use a parent from another seller or region.
• Match children by exact SKU and variation details. A parent item ID alone cannot identify a sold or edited child.
• Keep physical leaves below the parent. New grouping does not erase where the cards are stored.
• Keep blank seller SKUs honest. Local disambiguation keys protect ownership but must not silently become eBay Custom Labels.
• Keep the order guarantee precise. Card Throne publishes and verifies the buyer-facing selector sequence for a single-axis parent. Multi-axis selector lists do not prove one exact combination order, and eBay may retain buyer presentation behavior outside that contract.
• Retry an unreported image quota safely. If eBay omits numeric image-limit data, Card Throne attempts only the reviewed uploads. A real eBay limit response stops before the parent listing revision; completed photo uploads are retained for recovery.
• Recheck after external edits. Import current eBay updates, rebase the draft, and run Review Changes again.
